Do you wonder about how much self-care you ‘should’ be doing? Do you find that you work yourself to a depleted state and becoming burnt out? Do you wonder about how much self-care you ‘should’ be doing?

‘How much self-care should I do?’ was a question that was recently asked in the Cherished Seasons course. This article explains how much self-care to do and how to ensure that you don’t get to the burnt-out stage.

When you find yourself feeling depleted, let your body be your guide. When you find your shoulders hurting, your eyes getting tired, your clarity reduced, know that it is a sign that you need to take time out. This could be different on different days depending on the time of day, what sort of things you are doing that day – some things will tire you out more – especially when you are manifesting your leadership and justice traits! Also, be aware of your cycle and its corresponding energy levels. During the autumn and winter of your cycle, you may need more relaxing self-care, and not so much fun and feel-good things.

One of the important things about self-care is to do it before you get to the depleted, burnout stage. Here are 4 steps towards working are your optimum energy levels:

  1. Time yourself – When you set yourself a task, set a timer – and see how long it takes for you to do the task effectively before getting tired.
  2. Tired – The moment you get tired, check the timer. Make a mental note to do ten minutes less next time before taking a break – this way you will be taking out time for yourself before getting depleted!
  3. Take a break – replenish yourself with some tea, a 30-minute break, a walk around your garden, etc.
  4. Timed Tasks – Once you have taken your break, you can return back to the task for the time you know you can work at your optimum best.

The Four Traits of a Cherished Muslimah

Sara’s words penetrate deep

Nearly on the verge of divorce

Attending this two-day workshop was a memorable experience.

It helped my marriage at a time when it was nearly on the verge of a divorce.

Alhamdulillah, this is 6 years of a peaceful marriage – been married 18 years now.

Sara empowered me to set boundaries, and stand up for myself.

She reminded me about my intentions and goals, and in general to have a much happier marriage and life.

I’ve come such a long way since my work with you

I was in such a mess with that relationship. I worked through my worthiness, self-love, finding myself and building my relationship with Allah. You introduced me to a whole new world

I began seeing the man I married that very evening.

I came to the session thinking it cant help my marriage that drastically but the effects were instantaneous!

I now have the tools to continue making improvements within my marriage, most importantly changes within myself.

Universal Principles

Principles that you can apply to any aspect of your life and relationships not just in marriage!

Sara has helped me in so many ways!

By allowing me to feel more empowered, by showing me how to action boundaries,

by helping me to find my self-esteem,

by explaining how other people may be feeling and how to understand this,

by enabling me to do self-care things which are helpful to me.
