Kindness is a supremely feminine and highly desirable trait – Prince Charming always fell for the kindhearted Princess and not the wicked witch (no matter how beautiful she was). Kindness is also an asset in men, but is traditionally associated with nurturing, sweet and loving qualities of women.
Kindness is the mark of a superior woman and can inspire feelings like those of Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre: ‘”I have for the first time found what I can truly love – I have found you. You are my sympathy – my better self – my good angel. I am bound to you with a strong attachment. I think you good, gifted, lovely”’.
A kind woman encourages a decent man to be his best, which is why Mr. Rochester adored Jane; her goodness inspired him and he wanted her more than anything else.
